Google Labs project: Google Sets allows you to enter a set of up to five items and then returns the top related items. For example, enter "Da Vinci Code," "Forrest Gump," and "You've Got Mail," and Google Sets will return a list of several movies in which Tom Hanks stars—each hyperlinked to Google Search results related to the movie.

Google Suggest

Google Labs project: Google Suggest looks like a typical Google Search interface, however when you start to type your search topic, a drop-down list will appear with 10 Google suggestions for search terms and the number of results available for that search term. For example, as you start typing "Deitel," a drop down list will appear with each new letter that you type. By the time you enter the complete name "Deitel," the top 10 search terms with the name "Deitel" appears in the drop-down list. Google Suggest is also available in Japanese.

Google Labs project: Google Ride Finder helps you find a taxi, limo or bus based on the real-time location of the vehicles. The service is currently available in Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, Portland (Oregon), San Francisco, San Jose, St. Louis and Washington, DC.

Google Labs project: Google Reader is a Web content aggregator. Enter the news resources, Web sites, topics and authors that you want to follow. Next, Google Reader returns a list of the relevant sites. Subscribe to the sites you want to follow and Google Reader will deliver the latest headlines from those sources to your reading list. This allows you to follow the news and developments without searching each time.

Google Labs project: Google Transit Trip Planner is currently available for Portland, Oregon and will be expanding to other cities soon. Enter your starting address and ending address and the time you need to arrive. Google Transit Trip Planner takes that information and plans out the most time-efficient way for you to get to your destination, based on the public transportation schedules. It provides you with a detailed itinerary and even compares the cost of driving to your destination versus taking public transportation.

Google Labs project: Google Notebook allows you to take Web site clippings (links, text and images) and place them in your Google Notebook without leaving your Web browser. Your notebooks are saved in your Google Account so you can access them from any computer. Use Google Notebooks to save your Web research on a given topic. You can also share your Google Notebook with other users.
