Welcome to the Google Knol Resource Center.
The Google Knol project will feature authoritative, user-generated articles on virtually any topic. According to Udi Manber of Google, the goal is to highlight the authors of the articles, just as a book or magazine article features an author, so that users can make better use of the content on the web. Start your search here for Google Knol articles, forums, introductions and resource sites. In the Google Knol Resource Center, you'll find links to:
- The article, "Google Knol—Google's Play To Aggregate Knowledge," by Danny Sullivan.
- The blog entry, "Encouraging People to Contribute Knowledge," from Udi Manber, VP of Engineering at Google.
- Google’s announcement of Knol—a free tool/web page that can be used by people who have knowledge about a given topic, to write an authorized article.
- A sample of a Knol entry with elements including a table of contents, author name and affiliation, links to related information, references, an area where Google ads might appear and more.
- The definition of Knol (stands for unit of knowledge) from Wikipedia.
- The article, "Google to Wikipedia: 'Knol' Thine Enemy," by Nate Anderson.
- The article, "Google's Know-It-All Project," by Abdy Greenberg.
- The article, "Google Goes After Wikipedia," Adam C. Engst.
- The article, “Google Offers Encyclopedia,” by Associated Press.
- The article, "Google Knol as Wikipedia, Social Media Killer?" from blah, blah! Technology.
- The article, "Google's Knol Initiative—the Unwiki?" by Keith Regan, that discusses what Knol is, and how Knol will differ from Wikipedia.
- The Google Knol page that includes links to Google Knol news.
